When we arrived in Park Wood in February 2015 we soon realized that it’s image of a run down and neglected council estate housing an unusually high number of people on the breadline was more a leftover from days gone bye than a true and up to date reflection of hows things in Park Wood really are today.
With the start of the £50m regeneration project to transform and improve the former Park Wood estate well under way the new Wallis Fields neighborhood was on course to become a much safer and more attractive environment for all. Stages 1 and 2 were soon completed and stage 3 was expected to be finished by mid 2018 by Rydon Group Ltd for housing association Golding Homes.
